The main airport into Sierra Leone is Freetown Lungi International Airport (FNA). If you are flying in, please note that there is a 30 minute ferry from Freetown Lungi International Airport to Freetown.
When booking flights, please keep in mind that the symposium begins on the morning of July 29th, and the poster session and concluding reception will be held on the evening of July 30th.
Except for attendees who are from ECOWAS member countries (see note below), you must apply for a visa to enter Sierra Leone. It is recommended you apply for a visa one month in advance of travel.

*Note: ECOWAS citizens only need a valid passport, an Identity card or an ETC to travel to or transit through Sierra Leone. ECOWAS member countries as listed on the Sierra Leone Immigration Department website are: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote D’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
